Major General Bipin Bakshi, VSM, ADG NER, NCC, launched the expedition named "LACHIT-1" in Biswanath Chariali, Assam, on October 16, 2019, and Chief Minister of Assam Sarbanada Sonowal flagged it in on October 25, 2019, at Pandu Port in Guwahati.
